MAIN PROBLEMS FOR THE CARIBBEAN CHILDREN
According to Caribbean
Child Research Conference the main
profiles problems that Children in the Caribbean face are
Child without parents
Child who is a victim of violence
Child who is neglected and/or abandoned
Child who has been physically and/or sexually abused
Child who is roaming the streets
Child who is infected or affected by HIV and
AIDS
Child who has dropped out of school
Child who engages in sexual acts for money,
material goods or attention
For most people
who see this list they can picture the situations in how Caribbean Children
suffer. I had properly the same view as you right now and just saw these
children living in a bad and unhealthy situation.
My view changed and went much deeper when I moved from a well developed kingdom country in Europe to an Island in the Caribbean. Not only then I saw and experienced the situations, I also learned where the problems starts and WHY we have to change this center of the problem as well in order to make long term changes and to stop this circle of abuse and negative life for them.
I see so many good
foundations do their best to help them, they know that if you do not understand the
soul of this problem and do not understand where these children come from,, it
is a hard road.
Beside the money
and food that they need, this center
where the problem starts is an even bigger problem. This center is THEIR way of thinking, it is their way of
living , their way of life they know, and they way parents, family
and people around them, feed them with words of their world.
People raised them with this same life experiences that they had. How does a abused single
teenage mother who believes and is used to this life, raise her child with
other believes and experiences? We can
tell her, or show her but if you do not understand where she comes from and
what she believes, she never takes a step in another direction and keeps
holding on to the life she knows.
I will try to take each profile case and give one of the many situations I have seen.
How does it start. More important, HOW this situation changed them in so many ways and what kind of negative feelings creates this in their daily lives. How can we help them for the better if they are in a negative situation for a longer period and what they think is life? How much did it damaged them, and how can we provide a better future for them in this.
Why my care?

Why my care?
I am in love with horses, their sound, smell and the magic
that they bring me. Horses can change a life and bring miracles. My dream is to build a big horse ranch for
children in the Caribbean and to help them create a better future. A ranch
filled with horses, lots of love and other facilities to train, education, art, and for them to experience all
that they need to achieve their dreams and wishes.
So far my life is far and beyond with adventures, many
challenges and lots of things to achieve.
I live, in and see 2 worlds daily. A world full with children
who suffer and need help. Second, I work and live in a world with tourist who enjoy their Caribbean
vacation with joy and luxury.
I want to bring these 2 worlds together and make them one.
Make the tourist aware that we have children who need their help and show the Caribbean children in need, that they can have dreams by showing them among other help also the world with
tourists.
My dream is big but if you believe,,it is possible!

Tell us your Horse Miracle
Help us share more horse miracles. Do you think your horse is a miracle horse? Please,Tell us your story.
It can be a small miracle or big miracle, it is your story and all story's have something special.
When I was small I was riding a Lipizzaner horse and together we won many prizes. He was my best friend. Every day after school I went straight to him to here his sound and that he was happy to see me again. Small miracles, but you never forget them.

Kids + horses = Future
There is a tremendous need for after-school care for children and youth in the Caribbean. Far too many families are unable to find safe, quality programs for their children, and are forced to leave their children unsupervised. A high amount of all youth are (left) alone each day in the hours after school. For some of these latch-key kids, the hours after school may be dangerous; between the hours of 2 and 8 p.m., children and youth are the most likely to use alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs, and more likely to experiment with sex. All of these risks greatly increase for low-income children in urban communities.
For many other children and youth, the afternoon hours are simply wasted; time spent watching television or doing nothing could be used instead to participate in positive activities or to connect with responsible adults. Research indicates that children who attend high quality after-school programs have better peer relations, emotional adjustment, conflict resolution skills, grades, and behavior in school than children who are not in after-school programs. Students who spend one to four hours per week in extracurricular activities are 49% less likely to use drugs and 37% less likely to become teen parents than students who do not participate.
Despite a perception of sports and recreation programs as expendable or even frivolous, sports programs provide an important mechanism to reach large numbers of children and youth and engage them in healthy and positive activities during non-school hours. More children and youth chose to take part in sports programs than in any other after-school activity. Sport programs have the potential to promote physical health as well as healthy childhood and youth development.
Horse programs also promote healthy development for handicap children . Examples abound of successful sports programs that build character, responsibility and leadership for all children in the world!
